After School Programs

Tech Kids (ages 9-13)

HOLT's after school technology program is known as our "Tech Kids" program. The Tech Kids program will focus on providing technology, education and enrichment for young girls and boys (between ages 9-13). The "Tech Kids" participants will be provided access to technology and learning opportunities so that they can reach academic excellence. Our "Tech Kids" program will have a blended mix of basic Microsoft applications, and fun educational activities. The participants that do not meet the requirements for our "Top Techs" program will be taught basic computer skills.

Top Techs (ages 14-18)

Another facet of the after school program is HOLT's program for teenagers / young adults is "Top Techs" program. The "Top Techs" program will offer job skills, training, education, and enrichment opportunities in technology to help them meet challenges in the job market and everyday life. Adults, older than 18, may participate in this program as well.

The education activities that will be performed in both the Tech Kids as well as the Top Techs Program will instill a knowledge of computers, which involves the use of them, and provide insight into the array of career opportunities in information technology.

Adult and Senior Citizen Technology Program

Our "One-on-One" program will involve primarily adults and seniors. The One-on-One program is just that; services provided One-on-One. These services offer more personal assistance and individual attention than our traditional classroom settings. This concept does not eliminate the classroom training, but instead provides additional assistance when needed. This program is structured in a way to ensure that its participants stay abreast of their designated course work and offer a comfortable, relaxed learning environment where seniors may keep pace with modern technology. The seasoned One-on-One participants can select from our course offerings or recreational computer activities such as:

Creating Greeting Cards
Making Fliers and signs
Pay Bills online
Communicate with Kids and Grand Kids
and more

The goal of this program is for seniors to get over the fear of computing and develop the ability and eagerness to take on new computing tasks and activities.

The One-On-One program will also be offered to socially and economically disadvantaged businesses. The goal is to help small business owners succeed in operating their business with the use of computers.
